Every day we make a choice to wake up and commit to excellence. There’s often a motivating factor behind our commitment to creating an outstanding experience for the athletes in our program. Discover what inspired our board members to join the PJV team and learn about their personal "Why."
I'm a busy mom of four amazing girls. This will be my fourth year with PJV. I started out volunteering as a team mom for my two oldest cheer squad and have moved up to board treasurer.
PJV has been an amazing program for my girls. It's been everything we've needed exactly when we needed it. It was the distraction my girls needed, it was the opportunity to bond and help blend our new family, it was the place they could come and feel accepted no matter what internal struggle they were dealing with.
I volunteer because I believe in creating a nurturing environment for children, where they can play, learn, and grow. I want to help preserve their childhood by providing safe spaces and enriching experiences, ensuring they have opportunities to explore and enjoy their innocence. Seeing their joy and growth inspires me to make a difference in their lives.
Every family has the freedom to decide where they want to participate and which team they want to support. Working in a doctor's office, I see that, much like patients, families choose their involvement based on their experiences. I genuinely care about the athletes in our program and am dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive mindset. After three years with this program, I'm invested in the knowledge, skills, and life lessons they gain off the field, just as much as the techniques they learn while playing. We need to invest in the future community leaders of Puyallup.
This is my second year with PJV. I joined the board because I felt that my experience could be an asset to help grow and improve the organization as best as possible. I thoroughly enjoy being able to support my athletes, and while they are trying their hardest on and off the field/mat, I strive to set the example for them by trying my hardest for the organization. It is my hope that my time on the board will leave a lasting positive impact for the athletes, families, and the community.
I joined the board of directors for the Puyallup Jr. Vikings because I truly care about this program and the athletes we have the privilege of coaching. My love for the game, the excitement of the fans, and the desire to give back to the community where I’m raising my children drive me. I've been a part of PJV for two years. I want to show my kids the importance of being part of something meaningful, something they can be proud of, and to contribute to the legacy of this incredible organization.
