To be eligible to compete with PJV Elite, all cheerleaders must have actively participated in the current year’s sideline season. The cheerleaders must have also demonstrated extreme dedication and positive attitudes throughout the entirety of the sideline season. Tryouts will be towards the end of July and the Team announced in August. This is a cut team and there is an additional fee that varies from year to year. We do reserve the right to ask cheerleaders to sit out for a competition or for the season if we are noticing a lack of dedication and/or skill level that is below the rest of the team, but we will always give cheerleaders an opportunity first.

Elite Practice / Competition Schedule

Elite will practice one additional day during August, and then twice a week indoors from September-January. Conditioning days are mandatory for all Elite members. Competitions are typically on Saturday from November-January. Schedules for competitions are generally sent out the week of the competition. Elite will compete in 4-6 competitions each season ending the season at Jr. State. Competition times are generally posted the week of the competition.

Elite Special Events

Elite members are the face of PJV. Community opportunities are offered to Elite members in the form of:

• Cheering at Puyallup High School Football and Basketball Games.
•  Cheering in the stands at local school games
• Performing at local school assemblies
• Community Events booths
